Established in 1991, Tilde is a leading Baltic IT company specializing in localization, multilingual and Internet software. Tilde operates from the three Baltic offices in Riga, Tallinn, and Vilnius with the head office situated in Riga, Latvia.
Tilde’s goal is to be the leading provider of top-quality IT products for users in the Baltic countries, considering the local language, culture and legislation specifics, as well as to provide the best translation and localization services in the Baltics.
Tilde’s experience in language technologies has condensed in software for Latvian and Lithuanian languages. Our software includes proofing tools, multilingual electronic dictionaries, thesauruses, localized fonts and templates. Tilde’s proofing tools are licensed to software vendors, such as Microsoft, for inclusion in their products.
In language technologies, the aim of Tilde is to provide language technologies for the languages of the Baltic countries that would be equivalent to the support for the major languages of the world. Tilde works in new areas of NLP – machine translation, information retrieval, speech synthesis and recognition.
Tilde provides quality localization services for all three languages of the Baltic countries. With representative offices in all three capitals, Tilde offers its customers high quality localization solutions. Tilde localization team consists of skilful and experienced in-house translators, terminologists, linguists, QA specialists and technicians. Tilde’s localization services are used by such companies as IBM, Microsoft, Hewlett Packard, Nokia and others.
The company has established good cooperation with research institutes, educational and state organizations, such as the Academy of Science and the Institute of Mathematics and Computer Science.
Tilde is a member of the Terminology Commission of Academy of Science of Latvia and actively participates in creating and establishing Latvian IT terminology. Tilde is a member of the Latvian Information Technology and Telecommunication Association and Business Software Alliance.
