Lingvistica '93 Co. is the Ukrainian leader in machine and machine- aided translation area. We make and sell MT systems for English, Russian, German, and Ukrainian. We are also planning to develop MT systems for Spanish and Portuguese. Our commercial MT products are: - PARS (Windows and DOS): an English-Russian bi-directional MT system; - PARS/U (Windows and DOS): the world's first English-Ukrainian bidirectional MT system; - RUMP (Windows and DOS): the world's first Russian-Ukrainian bidirectional MT system. - PARS/D, a Russian-German bidirectional MT system; - PARSBook, an MAT system for English, Russian, and Ukrainian. All of our MT systems feature a break-through dictionary extending utility. Our terminological dictionaries contain hundreds of thousands of word- entries, and they are constantly updated. The software is written in Visual C++, Borland Pascal, and Assembler, and it runs under Windows '95, Windows 3.1, Windows NT, and DOS. The systems are compatible with all Windows-supported text processors. We have also developed a technology for semi-automatic creating bidirectional dictionaries for the above MT systems as well as for machine-aided translation systems, such as Polyglossum by ETS Publishing House (Moscow, Russia). We provide on-line and off-line translation services based on our MT tools. The above systems are broadly used in tutorial courses lectured at Kharkov State Polytechnical University. New projects we are engaged in at present include: a) COPERNIC, a multilingual MT package for Russian, Ukrainian, English, and German (in collaboration with the MDM-Service company and The Ukrainian Ministry for Education; b) a multilingual machine-aided translation system (in collaboration with the ETS Publishing House, Moscow, Russia); c) PARS/PARS/U/RUMP + Pen Editor (in collaboration with the ECOMA company, Kiev, Ukraine); d) a Russian-English exampled-based MT system (on the state order, in collaboration with the ECOMA company, Kiev, Ukraine); e) Philologist/Windows, a spell-checker for Ukrainian. We also collaborate with Polyglossum, Inc.(USA) and PASATI B.V. (The Netherlands) as well as with The Machine Translation Laboratory, Kharkov State Polytechnical University. Dr.Michael S.Blekhman is a member of the European Association for Machine Translation.
