The department of "Speech dialogue Systems"(head of the
department Prof. G.Ramishvili) consists of 7 collaborators
(physicists, engineers, programmers).
In the department for more than three decades have been
carried out researches in the following areas:
-investigation of speech from the point of view of its
phonetic description, its prosodic characteristics and study of
individual voice peculiarities.
-automatic recognition of speech inquiries in the limits of
problem-orientated vocabulary on high level of noises.
-working out of systems of a speaker automatic verification.
-working out of a system of a complex method for expert
investigation of a speech phonogram and identification of a speaker's personality,
-organization of Georgian synthesis end speech response.
Our educational activity was rested to some courses of lectures in Technical University of Georgia in the area of "Vocoder communication".
The computational basis of department is: 3 personal computer (1-IBM PC P3, 2-IBM PC P2).
Programming languages and operating systems used in department are: Pascal, DOS, Borland C++, Delphi
Institute of Control Systems, where our Department Supports two projects:
1. Synthesis of Georgian speech (1997-1998).
2. Complex Investigation of Speech Signal Acoustic Characteristics Determining the Nature of Voice Individuality.
(The grant $10.000 was allotted by Acoustic Society of America).
The department participates also (together with the
Department of Language modeling of the same Institute and
the Centre of Forensic Expertise of the Ministry of Justice)
in the following Project, sponsored by Georgian Ministry
of Justice: "Complex methods of speaker personality
identification by speech phonogram (1996-1997).
Department has had close scientific contacts (including
collaboration) with a number of organizations of the former USSR
(Moscow, Sankt-Peterburg, Novosibirsk) as well as USA and Europe
(Institute for Advanced Study of the communications Processes,
Gainesville, Florida, USA; Royal Institute of Technology, Dept. of
speech communication and Music Acoustic, Stockholm, Sweden;
Institute of Fundamental Technological Research, Warsaw, Poland;
University of Trier, Department of Phonetics, Trier, Germany and etc.).
I am member of International Society of Phonetic Sciences (ISPHS).
